Thank you for this Kaus! As always, very inspiring to read. What I would love to know is how you started being a solopreneur. Once you quit, what did you do? How did you find your clients, market your services? I am in a similar boat, working at an ad agency and considering going freelance. But the thought of how to make it work seems daunting.

Hey there! Thank you for your kind words and your questions. I think the journey of this transition is different for different people but I hope I could help you with mine as much as I can. I had saved emergency money so the plan to quit had been in the back for long. I also decided to factor in minimising my expenses. Plus, I started to save for travel and experiences so day-to-day expenses were less. I think I should write an article on how to help someone transition. What do you think? As I write this, so many things come to my mind. How about you send me more questions ? And I turn them into a newsletter issue. I think it could help more people who are thinking to take this step. What do you think?

I would definitely appreciate a newsletter on this! Some of my questions would be:

How did you find your first clients? Did you already have a network or start from scratch?

What were some things you did to promote your freelance work? I am thinking website, social media…

How did you determine the rates you wanted to charge?

Do you mainly work with clients on a project or retainer basis?

When did you feel you started making enough income to live off other it?

How did you handle things like health insurance etc.?

So excited to see the newsletter soon! :)
